Clare O'Neil is a wife, mum, sister, daughter, friend, and the federal Labor MP for Hotham in Victoria.
She has been the federal member for Hotham since 2013, a vibrant and multicultural community in Melbourne.
She is the Minister for Housing and the Minister for Homelessness and was previously the Minister for Home Affairs and the Minister for Cyber Security.
Before she was elected, she studied law and history at Monash University. She also studied public policy and economics at Harvard Kennedy School, where she was a Fulbright Scholar.
She is also a former Mayor and Councillor in the City of Greater Dandenong, and at the time, she was the youngest female Mayor in Australia's history.
Before running for Parliament, Clare worked in business as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company. She led teams to help businesses solve their most challenging problems. In 2011, Clare spent nine months living in North East Arnhem Land, working on business development in a local Indigenous community.
Clare O'Neil has always seen politics as an act of public service, where you try to do the right thing for your community and country. This is what she tries to achieve every day.
