Q Shelter is the peak body working to address housing needs and homelessness in Queensland. Our vision is that every Queenslander has a home. We seek to influence policy and investment in solutions and work to achieve system capacity to achieve those solutions.

As part of our 2024 State Election Platform, Q Shelter has put forward a raft of policy positions to ‘supercharge the community housing sector for growth’. We are calling on all candidates to adopt a strategic approach to community housing that identifies and maps the size, scale and delivery of community housing in Queensland by 2046, and to strengthen the role of community housing providers in Queensland through a more enabling policy framework and operating model.
